HL Deb 21 October 1976 vol 375 c1656WA
Lord TAYLOR

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How much money will be saved per annum if the decision to close the Hayes and Harlington Hospital is implemented; and how much money would be saved per annum if the same number of beds were closed at the Parent District Hospital.

Lord WELLS-PESTELL

There has been no decision to close Hayes Cottage Hospital (34 beds) where current annual cost is £120,000 per annum. The Area Health Authority has asked its officers to assess the financial effect of closure and absorbing the work elsewhere. £57,000 would be saved per annum if Harlington Hospital (14 beds) were to close. No final decision has been taken. The proposal, subject to consultation, would be to absorb the workload into the main maternity wing at Hillingdon Hospital.

House adjourned at one minute past midnight.
