HC Deb 22 November 1976 vol 919 c938W
Mr. Molyneaux

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what was the estimated annual income from rates levied on traders engaged in the Sunday market at Nutts Corner in County Antrim.

Mr. Dunn

The site has not yet been assessed for rating purposes, but the District Valuer is in process of making investigations and will issue his decision in due course. The liability for rates will be operative from the date of the commencement of the market—October 1976—and the actual rate income will depend on the rateable value to be assessed by the valuer.

Mr. Molyneaux

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what was the estimated annual cost to public funds of the traffic control measures necessitated by the holding of a Sunday market at Nutts Corner in County Antrim.

Mr. Dunn

Approximately £750, total, for the three occasions on which the market has been held.
