The latest available information on the reconviction of offenders discharged from custody in England and Wales is given in Chapter 15 of Cmnd. 6542, "Report on the Work of the Prison Department, 1975: Statistical Tables." Comparable data relating to other EEC countries is not available. The Council of Europe is undertaking some work in this field, but the results will not be available for a number of years.
