Mr. Grylls

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what consultation he has had with the staff associations on the proposed move of the Government Laboratory from Cornwall House, London SE1. to Cockermouth; and if the staff have approved the move.

The Staff Side of the Departmental Whitley Council has made a number of representations against the move of the Laboratory of the Government Chemist to West Cumbria. With-

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what are the total regional grants, per region, that have been made to the United Kingdom by the EEC in the period since United Kingdom membership.
