§ Rev. Ian Paisleyasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what steps he proposes to make available more accommodation in the geriatric wards of the hospitals in Northern Ireland.
§ Mr. CarterAt present there are 2,313 hospital beds specifically allocated for geriatric purposes. By 1980 it is hoped that 2,648 geriatric beds—approximately 15 per 1,000 of the elderly population—will be available.
