asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer by how much revenue would increase if the real value of duty and value added tax on drink, petrol and tobacco were restored to the level of November 1966.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

If the duties on drink, tobacco and all road fuels were restored to the level of November 1966, the increase in revenue would be about £750 million in a full year.
