asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what percentage of the population is in receipt of social security benefit in each of the countries of the EEC, Sweden and Norway.

On average, the total number of benefits and allowances, including national insurance benefits, supplementary benefit, industrial injuries benefit, war pensions, family income supplement and family allowances being paid in the United Kingdom in any week in 1975 was 19½ million.
