§ Mr. Teddy Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give an assurance that any students' union in Scotland which decides to make or confirm a decision to disaffiliate from the 157W National Union of Students will not be penalised by any reduction in grant from his Department or from any other public body for which he is responsible.
§ Mr. McElhoneStudent union subscriptions are included in the fees charged by universities and colleges and are payable under the student grant system. These arrangements do not discriminate against student unions which are not affiliated to the National Union of Students.
