HC Deb 08 November 1976 vol 919 c96W
Mr. Roy Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he has received any information from the United Nations Organisation concerning the desirability of sports teams from the United Kingdom touring South Africa; and, if so, if this information has been disseminated to the various controlling bodies of sport in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Rowlands

Her Majesty's Government are fully informed about all aspects of the activities of the United Nations. Moreover, the recommendations of the General Assembly and the United Nations documents about sporting contacts with South Africa are freely available in this country. We have made clear our policy on this subject both to appropriate bodies here and at the United Nations.
