HC Deb 04 November 1976 vol 918 cc682-3W
Mr. Carlisle

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what consideration, if any, is being given by his Department to monitoring the results of the treatment for the disease of retinitis pigmentosa being carried out at the Opos Clinic in St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Mr. Moyle

Although there is no specific project to monitor the results from the Opos Clinic, a working party on retinitis pigmentosa at the Medical Research Council, attended by an observer from my Department, is reviewing all known treatments of this disease. The working party will study with interest any published results from the clinic.
