HC Deb 04 November 1976 vol 918 c686W
Mr. Patrick Jenkin

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what checks are made on pharmacies in Great Britain to ensure that all medicines being sold comply with the provisions of the Medicines Act 1968.

Mr. Ennals

Visits are made by inspectors of the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain which is responsible for enforcing, in retail pharmacies, provisions of the Medicines Act 1968 which are already in force in relation to retail sale and much of the earlier legislation which is being replaced by the Medicines Act.
