§ Mr. Patrick Jenkinasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if, in his consideration of the report "Sharing Resources for Health in England", he will give urgent priority to devising and introducing indicators of access to health care of the kind being developed in the United States of America.
§ Mr. EnnalsIn pursuing policies directed at securing a more equitable distribution of financial resources to the National Health Service in England I shall continue to monitor through planning and information systems the results achieved in terms of health care actually delivered. To this end research to enable reliable performance indicators to be developed will continue. The research carried out in the United States of America to which the right hon. Member refers is known to my Department and will be taken into account.
