HC Deb 04 November 1976 vol 918 c646W
Mr. Michael Morris

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many housing associations in existence before the Housing Act 1974 are still awaiting a decision on their registration applications; and how many dwellings are involved.

Mr. Armstrong

Excluding applications which were subsequently withdrawn, the Housing Corporation had by the end of August 1976 received 2,570 applications for registration. Of these 2,091 had been accepted, 111 rejected and 368 were outstanding. Information on how many of these associations were in existence before the Housing Act 1974, or how many dwellings are involved, is not readily available.
