§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsThe Third Report of the Price Commission has now been received and I am arranging for copies to be placed in the Library. It finds some evidence that distributors' cash margins rose towards the end of April, mainly at the wholesale level. But the volume of potatoes handled was smaller so that the aggregate cash margin taken by distributors as a whole was probably lower. The Commission is looking at margins on imported potatoes, which will be covered in its next Report.
