HC Deb 28 May 1976 vol 912 cc477-8W
Mr. Litterick

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many building workers are now registered as unemployed and how this number compares with the corresponding month of 1975; and what is his Department's forecast of the level of employment in the building industry by the end of 1976

Mr. Golding

At 8th April 1976, 213,480 people who last worked in the construction industry were registered as unemployed in Great Britain. The figure for the corresponding month of 1975 on the same basis was 148,974. My Department has made no forecast of the level of employment in the building industry by the end of 1976.
