HC Deb 26 May 1976 vol 912 c255W
Mr. Robertson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many pupils attending schools in the Paisley area are receiving part-time education.

Mr. McElhone

On 3rd May 1976, 488 pupils were on part-time education.

Mr. Robertson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many children of school age are receiving no regular instruction at a recognised day school.

Mr. McElhone

In September 1974, the latest date for which figures are available, 1,718 children aged 5–15 inclusive, were being educated in List D schools or elsewhere other than in schools. In addition, at any time a number of children who have been execluded from school are awaiting a place at another school or at a List D school, and there may be a small number of special school children for whom no suitable placement has yet been found.
