asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many Army recruiting centres are located on Merseyside; from which addresses they operate; how many persons have been recruited at each centre in each of the past 12 months; and how this compares with the previous 12 months.

There are six Army recruiting centres in the Merseyside area, operating from the following addresses:

  1. (i) Liverpool: Graeme House, Derby Square
  2. (ii) Bootle: 100 The Hexagon, New Strand
  3. (iii) Birkenhead: Kingsland Building, College Street
  4. (iv) Kirkby: 1 Old Rough Lane
  5. (v) St. Helens: 2 YMCA Building, Borough Road
  6. (vi) Southport: Old TA Centre, 24–35 Manchester Road

The number of persons recruited at each of these centres during each of the 12 months previous to March 1976, the latest date for which statistics are available, is as follows:
