asked the Lord President of the Council (1) whether he will make a statement on the circumstances in which a former member of the IRA came to be employed within the Palace of Westminster;

(2) whether he is satisfied with the security checks followed before a person is employed within the Palace of Westminster; and if he will make a statement.
