§ Mr. Fordasked the Secretary of State for Trade what preparations he is making concerning the renegotiation of the Multi-Fibre Arrangement; and if he will set out his aims and the time-scale envisaged.
§ Mr. DeakinsThe GATT Multi-Fibre Arrangement expires on 31st December 1977. Later this year the GATT Textiles Committee will be undertaking a major review of the Arrangement, and it would be better to await this review before making preparations or considering proposals for the renegotiation of the Arrangement.
