§ Mr. Spearingasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what view Her Majesty's Government will take at the forthcoming Council of Ministers of the EEC which will consider the recommendation of M. Tindemans that the distinction between political meetings of the Council and informal gatherings, such as that at Schloss Gymnich, be abolished.
§ Mr. HattersleyM. Tindemans' recommendation concerns the abolition of the distinction between ministerial meetings devoted to political co-operation and meetings of the Council of Ministers (Foreign Affairs). Neither of these categories includes the informal meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Schloss Gymnich type. The Government have not yet taken a definitive view on the recommendations in M. Tindemans' report.
