Licensing Planning Committees

Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the annual cost of operating each of the licensing planning committees he has set up.

The cost is borne by the district planning authorities concerned. I am obtaining information about it and will write to my hon. Friend.

Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list the members of the Birmingham Licensing Planning Committee, the dates he appointed each member and the age of each member.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

I am responsible for the appointment only of chairmen of licensing planning committees. The Chairman of the Birmingham Committee is Mr. H. J. Gittoes, who was born in 1895 and was appointed on 20th May 1960, nominally for life.
