Mr. Nicholas Edwards

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is his latest estimate of the total number of households in Wales; how this figure compares with the number of households in 1951; what percentage of households in each year were no family households containing one or two persons; and what percentage were two or more family households.

At the time of the 1971 Census there were 905,380 private households in Wales, an increase of 128 per cent. over the 802,590 households in 1961. The percentages of households of varying kinds were as follows:
