HC Deb 04 March 1976 vol 906 c704W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what consideration he is giving to constructing a coal-fired power station in the West of Scotland; and what is his assessment of the viability of such a project.

Mr. William Ross

Decisions about the provision of additional generating capacity are taken in the first instance by the Scottish electricity boards. The South of Scotland Electricity Board has submitted no proposal to me for the construction of a coal-fired power station in the west of Scotland.
