HC Deb 02 March 1976 vol 906 cc546-7W
Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list those recommendations of the Finer Report (a) that he has implemented, (b) those not yet implemented but which he proposes to implement, and indicate when and (c) those he does not intend to implement; and if he will state his reasons.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

The position on recommendations 128–130 of the Finer Report, which deal with income tax matters, is as follows:

128— The additional personal allowance was increased last year to give single-parent families the same aggregate tax allowances as a married man with children.
129— Tax offices are already under standing instructions to give priority to claims for repayment of tax.
130— The possibility of issuing a special tax leaflet for one parent families is still under consideration.
