HC Deb 25 June 1976 vol 913 cc490-1W
34. Mr. Tebbit

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how much progress he has made towards the Government's objective of full employment since taking office.

Mr. Golding

The seasonally adjusted unemployment figures for the past two months have been fairly stable, though the level of unemployment is unacceptably high and our efforts to reduce it must continue. In the long term the reduction of unemployment depends on our success in fighting inflation and in regenerating British industry.
