§ Mr. John GrantI am informed by the Chairman of the Health and Safety Commission that the use of asbestos is controlled by the Asbestos Regulations 1969 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The Health and Safety Commission has set up a committee to undertake a wide-ranging review of the health risks from absbestos and to make recommendations. In the interim period, the Health and Safety Executive will continue to strictly enforce the regulations.

§ Mr. John GrantA committee has been set up to undertake a wide-ranging review of the health risks from asbestos and to make recommendations. I am informed by the Chairman of the Health and Safety Commission that the regulations will be reviewed in the light of any recommendations that the committee may make.
