§ Mr. Pavittasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will advise local education authorities to waive all fees for lip-reading courses for persons on the register of social services departments, in accordance with the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970.
§ Mr. Gerry FowlerLocal education authorities are conversant with the provisions of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970 and are known generally to be sympathetic in exercising their discretionary power to waive or reduce fees for persons attending their courses.
