HL Deb 28 July 1976 vol 373 cc1457-8WA
Lord TAYLOR

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is the approximate number of health centres with accommodation for dental work and the approximate number of dentists working in health centres.

Lord WELLS-PESTELL

At the end of December 1975, out of the 634 health centres in operation in England about 50 had accommodation for general dental services. As said in my reply to my noble friend's Question of 24th June, [Vol. 372, col. 567] information about the number of general dental practitioners using this accommodation is not available centrally and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. A large number of health centres have accommodation for the provision of school and priority dental services but again information on the exact extent of these services is not centrally collected.
