§ Mr. Nobleasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if, in view of the cessation of production of Thorium X in the United Kingdom, he will take steps to ensure an imported supply sufficient to enable those patients who have started a course of this treatment to complete it.
§ Dr. OwenAs I said in my reply to my hon. Friend on 18th June—[Vol. 913, c.295–6]—production of Thorium X ceased in this country about a year ago. My Department has so far had no complaints about inconvenience to any patient because of the withdrawal of Thorium X and I have not considered taking steps to import supplies. However, if my hon. Friend is aware of a problem and will inform me, I will consider appropriate action.
