§ Mr. Steenasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) if he will make a statement on the completion date of the Edge Lane Spur of the Merseyside underground railway;
(2) when demolition of houses in Thomas Lane, Liverpool, will commence in the course of constructing the Edge Lane Spur underground railway;
(3) if he will make a statement about the progress of the Edge Lane Spur of the Merseyside underground railway; and when he hopes the first sod of earth to be turned in the course of construction;
(4) when he expects the Edge Lane Spur of the Merseyside underground railway will be open to the public.
§ Dr. GilbertThe Edge Hill Spur is included in the railway network proposals contained in "A Transport Plan for Merseyside (1972)". It is a matter for the Merseyside County Council to decide, in agreement with the Railways Board, when to implement these proposals.
