§ Mr. Steenasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what timetable for action he proposes to follow as a result of the findings of the Liverpool Inner Area Study Steering Committee reports;
(2) what steps the Government are going to take as a result of the findings of the Inner Area Study Steering Committee at Liverpool;
(3) what the Minister for Housing and Construction learned as a result of his chairing of the Inner Area Study Steering Committee at Liverpool on 23rd July.
§ Mr. FreesonThe final reports of all three inner area studies are not due to be received until this autumn. They will set out the consultants' general conclusions, which the Government will consider as a whole. Because of parliamentary commitments, I was not able to attend the Steering Committee on 23rd July. The committee's discussion confirmed the importance of economic development as a key issue.
