HC Deb 12 July 1976 vol 915 cc36-7W
Dr. Hampson

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many students are enrolled on degree and comparable courses who are in receipt of no grant whatever.

Mr. Gerry Fowler

It is estimated that in the academic year 1974–75 the number of full-time and sandwich home students enrolled in Great Britain on first degree and comparable courses without grants from local education authorities or the Scottish Education Department was about 13,000. Many of these received grants from other sources, including industry.
