HC Deb 12 July 1976 vol 915 cc79-80W
Mr. David Watkins

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will review the hospital facilities available to consultants contracted to the National Health Service with a view to achieving a more equitable distribution of such facilities;

(2) if he will establish a working party to consider methods of distributing avail able resources between area health authorities in England, similar to that set up by the Secretary of State for Wales.

Dr. Owen

The hospital facilities available to consultants depend upon the allocation and distribution of NHS resources. I have already established a working party to examine disparities in NHS resources in England and I would refer my hon. Friend to my replies to my hon. Friend the Member for Newham, South (Mr. Spearing) on 13th May and 22nd June.— [Vol. 911, c.237–8; Vol. 913, c. 461–2.]
