§ Mr. Kilroy-Silkasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the number of juveniles in prison establishments at the latest available date; how many boys and how many girls were in local prisons; and how many of these had been imprisoned for more than a week.
§ Dr. Summerskill:On 22nd December 1975, 1,663 juveniles, 1,599 of whom were males, were held in Prison Department establishments. Of that total, 31 males and 12 females were in local prisons and 1,509 had been in custody for more than a week.
