HC Deb 29 January 1976 vol 904 c271W
Mr. Grocott

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what has been the cost to the taxpayer so far of operations connected with the so-called Great Train Robbery, including the cost of police inquiries and the cost of the imprisonment of the convicted men.

Dr. Summerskill

It is not possible to make any reliable estimate of the cost to the taxpayer of dealing with the train robbers.
