HC Deb 29 January 1976 vol 904 c286W
Mr. Carson

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many community centres in Northern Ireland from 1st January 1972 have been granted a licence to sell alcohol; how many have a seven-day licence; and what are the names of the community centres concerned.

Mr. Moyle

Four certificates of registration under the Registration of Clubs Act (Northern Ireland) 1967 have been granted since January 1972 to community centres which received financial assistance from the Department of Education—or the former Department of Community Relations. In accordance with the provisions of the Act, intoxicating liquor may be supplied in a registered club to members on each day of the week subject to a restriction in hours.

The four community centres are: St. Matthew's Old Age Pensioners' Social Club, Belfast; Taughmonagh Community and Recreational and Social Club, Belfast; Andersonstown Tenants' Community Centre Club, Belfast; West Winds Tenants' Association Club, Newtownards.
