HC Deb 28 January 1976 vol 904 c216W
Mr. Peter Walker

asked the Attorney-General if he will in future see that delegated legislation in the form of a set of amendment rules is not used to change the law as enacted by Parliament as it has been in the Matrimonial Causes (Amendment) Rules 1975.

The Attorney-General

There is nothing in the Matrimonial Causes (Amendment) Rules 1975 which changes the law as enacted by Parliament. My noble Friend, who is chairman of the committee by which matrimonial causes rules are made, takes care to ensure that the committee never exceeds its statutory powers.
