Mr. Sainsbury

asked the Secretary of State for Employment, in the last year for which records are available, which industrial training board spent the highest proportion of its expenditure on administration and which the lowest proportion; and what were those proportions.

In the financial year 1974–75, the latest for which the information is available, the industrial training boards spending the highest and lowest proportion of their total expenditure on administrative costs were:—

Lowest: Chemical and Allied Products 1.31

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the total expenditure of all the industrial training boards on administration in the last year for which records are available; and what proportion this represents of the boards' overall expenditure.

In the financial year 1974–75, the latest for which information is available, industrial training board's spent a total of £172,548,600. Of this sum, expenditure on administrative costs amounted to £6,458,164 or 3.74 per cent.
