HC Deb 26 January 1976 vol 904 cc34-5W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Lord President of the Council whether he will refer to any Committee of Procedure which may be appointed the question of finding means of ensuring that any Select Committee that has power to send for persons or papers shall have the right to demand the attendance of any of Her Majesty's subjects before it, by due arrangement, or take whatever action may prove necessary to ensure that Standing Orders are amended to this effect.

Mr. Edward Short

This goes beyond matters of procedure but I have noted my hon. Friend's suggestion.
