HC Deb 26 January 1976 vol 904 c25W
39. Mr. Gwilym Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what steps he is taking to further the policy that as much equipment as possible used for United Kingdom offshore drilling should be manufactured in the United Kingdom by ensuring that United Kingdom suppliers get fair consideration for all United Kingdom offshore systems and equipment tenders by making these public tenders adjudicated in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Eadie

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given on 6th November 1975 to a Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Aberdeen, North (Mr. Hughes)—[Vol. 902, c.309]. I am satisfied that this agreement enables the Offshore Supplies Office of my Department to satisfy itself that full and fair opportunity is being given to United Kingdom suppliers.
