§ Mr. Corbettasked the Secretary of State for Defence how many members of the Chilean armed forces, by rank and service, attended service training courses in the United Kingdom in 1974 and 1975; at which establishments; for what period; and for which specific purposes.
§ Mr. MasonDuring 1974 some 53 officers and 223 ratings underwent naval training and in 1975 a further 21 officers and three ratings attended courses. It is not our practice to disclose the detail of training courses arranged for our overseas customers. The specific purpose of the training given was to meet our obligations deriving from existing naval sales contracts negotiated many years ago and it has been limited to that.
