§ Mr. Clemitsonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) how many people have been killed and how many seriously injured in accidents to heavy freight and passenger vehicles in the last 12-month period for which statistics are available in which the principal cause has been brake failure;
(2) how many accidents to heavy freight and passenger vehicles have been principally caused by brake failure in the last 12-month period for which statistics are available; and what proportion this constitutes of all such accidents.
