HC Deb 11 February 1976 vol 905 c214W
35. Mr. Roy Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what was the reason for the several successive increases in the area of land proposed to be acquired by the Property Services Agency in the borough of Newport, Gwent, for a possible dispersal of Ministry of Defence personnel.

Mr. Armstrong

The land originally on offer at Tredegar Park, Newport, was sufficient to house only part of the recommended dispersal of Ministry of Defence. It was first necessary to establish whether extra land would be available to take the full dispersal, and at a later stage to see whether sufficient land would be available to meet the special requirements of MOD.
