HC Deb 09 February 1976 vol 905 c78W
Mr. Monro

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) if he will allocate part of the surplus funds for school building, mentioned in his statement to the STUC on 30th January, to school building in Dumfriesshire;

(2) if he will list those education authorities that have not used in full their school building allocations; and how much of this surplus he intends to transfer to school building in west Central Scotland.

Mr. William Ross

As my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Health and Education indicated on 30th January, a final decision has not been taken about the reallocation of resources for school building released by education authorities who do not wish to take up their authorisations in full. The following authorities have indicated an intention not to use in full their allocations for school building starts:

Primary and Secondary

(Year to 31st March 1976)

Borders

Nursery

(Year to 30th September 1976)

Borders

Dumfries and Galloway.
