HC Deb 09 February 1976 vol 905 cc78-9W
Mrs. Winifred Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what decisions he has taken since 1975 which relate to or indicate his full regard to the development possibilities referred to in the Scottish Council's Oceanspan Report.

Mr. William Ross

I gave planning approval to the construction of the deep water jetty at Hunterston in March 1975 which, although built primarily for the landing of iron ore by the British Steel Corporation, will be available for use by third parties. I have also given planning permission for two direct reduction plants at Hunterston which will form the nucleus of a future integrated steel works.
