HC Deb 05 February 1976 vol 904 c695W
Mr. Corbett

asked the Attorney-General whether he has now received either an interim or complete report of investigations by Scotland Yard into allegations of corruption made by Mr. John Drummond against Detective Inspector Lewis and three other Metropolitan Police officers; whether he has yet decided what action to take; and if he will make a statement.

The Attorney-General

I have made inquiries of the Director of Public Prosecutions and I am informed that the report of the police investigation was considered by the DPP who decided, on the advice of Treasury Counsel, that there was no case for proceedings. In these circumstances no request for a fiat under the Prevention of Corruption Acts was submitted to me.
