asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations have been made to him and what consideration he has given regarding the fusion of the advocate and solicitors branches of the legal profession.

No formal representations have been made to me about the fusion of the advocate and solicitor branches of the legal profession in Scotland. I understand from my right hon. and learned Friend the Lord Advocate that he, too, has received no formal representations on this question.
