Dr. Hampson

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science which local authorities have selective sixth form colleges; and which have a sixth form unit, as defined in the Education Act 1970.

Miss Joan Lestor

Cheshire, Cornwall, Hereford and Worcester, Oxfordshire, Richmond-upon-Thames, Salford, Salop, Solihull, Staffordshire, Surrey, Tyneside North and Warwickshire have sixth form colleges operating selective admission procedures. The two Education Acts in 1970 dealt with school milk and handicapped children.
