HC Deb 02 February 1976 vol 904 c492W
Mr. Shersby

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the percentage of the working population who were unemployed in each of the employment areas in Greater London at the most recent count; and what were the comparable figures for each of the two previous years.

Mr. John Fraser

Rates of unemployment can be calculated for Greater London as a whole but not separately for its constituent parts. The rates were 3.8 per cent. at January 1976 and 1.5 per cent. at January 1974. Because of industrial action at local offices of the Employment Service Agency information for January 1975 is not available. However, at February 1975 the rate was 1.9 per cent.
