HC Deb 02 February 1976 vol 904 c492W
Mr. Hatton

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what action he intends to take in order to ensure that those firms in the Manchester travel-to-work area which do not fulfil their quota obligations in respect of the employment of disabled persons take into their employment their 3 per cent. quota of registered disabled people.

Mr. Harold Walker

The present arrangements for enforcement of the quota scheme, including the permit system, inspection of records which employers with quota obligations are required to maintain, and consideration of proceedings where appropriate, will continue in the Manchester travel-to-work area as elsewhere. In addition, disablement resettlement officers will continue to maintain regular contact with employers to give advice and assistance with finding suitable registered disabled people.
